In the SURMOUNT-1 trial, Tirzepatide (dual GIP/GLP-1 agonist) showed mean body weight reductions of approximately 20–22% at 72 weeks compared with placebo (Source: Jastreboff et al. 2022). Published Phase 3 protocols started at 2.5 mg/wk and titrated every 4 weeks. Semaglutide (GLP-1 agonist) is an alternative when Tirzepatide is unavailable; do not combine.
